Getting your boat shoot ready!
Tips for getting your boat
‘shoot ready’
Here are some tips to help you prepare the boat for the shoot.
Remove Personal Items
Remove all personal items including clothes, toiletries, shoes, sunglasses family photos etc
Declutter
Simplify the interior space and declutter. Remove/hide/leave at the dock items such as rubbish bins sunblock, tea towels, sponges, dish brushes and items that clutter up surfaces
Cleaning
Wipe all surfaces down to remove dust and marks
Make Beds
Make all beds and ensure bedding is tucked into the mattress nicely. Adding a throw or decorative pillow can help enhance the space.
Helm Station / Fly Bridge
Ensure all protective covers are removed from electronics and screens are wiped clean of dust and fingerprints
Staging
Gentle staging can be helpful. A wine bottle with glasses, fruit bowl with colourful fruit, cheese board, cushions on couches / sitting areas.
Tenders and Toys
Remove covers of tenders and toys if they are going to be featured in the imagery
People
Avoid inviting more people than needed onboard during the shoot day and preferably no pets. The best clothing to wear is smart casual, no big logos, busy patterns or bright colourful clothing. Depending on the type of boat, the skipper and crew might appear in some of the aerial footage.
